It’s been a very busy set here on the Rurals Local Policing Area and whilst we’ve had a lot of success regarding solving issues in both Meriden and Balsall Common as well as responding to emergencies across the Solihull we unfortunately have seen a spate of car key burglaries in Millisons wood on the outskirts of Meriden this past week with properties on Albert road and James Dawson Drive being targeted, we’re still conducting our investigations however we are very interested in a blue coloured Audi that has been seen to be used in one of the burglaries Thieves have entered properties via the back/side doors before making off with car keys and stealing the car from the drive so please be mindful of the security at the rear of your properties especially if you have a side access. As always, we do highly recommend getting a set of anti-snap locks fitted and whilst we are searching for the offenders please do be vigilant of where you keep the keys so that they are not on display near any front/rear windows. These offenders have struck in the early hours of the morning so if you are up burning the midnight oil and happen to see/hear a vehicle prowling around please do call us on 999 and if you have any information regarding the blue Audi in question, please contact us on 101. In other news we have spoken to the libraries in both Balsall common and Meriden and secured dates for our beat surgeries for the next 3 months, you can find those dates advertised in your local library as well as on our website. If you are unable to attend then don’t fret as you can always contact us via our teams email of Rural@Westmidlands.police.uk if you have any questions regarding either crime or home security or if you have something you like to just tell us about, please me mindful however that all crimes should be reports to the police on either 999 or our non-emergency number; 101. We’ll always do out bet to respond in a timely manner but please be mindful that it may take a few days for us to if out off duty at the time.
